Tall Cell Variant Papillary Carcinoma

Tall cell variant (TCV) papillary carcinoma represents 10% of all papillary carcinomas. TCV tumors are larger than usual papillary carcinomas (UPC). TCV is usually more aggressive than UPC with increased local reccurence and death.

Miscroscopic Pathology:
Papillary carcinoma with cells that are twice as tall as they are wide.  As you can see in the photmicrograph there is also a large amount of eosinophilic cytoplasm.
