Bid For Medicine

bidformedicine is for filling prescriptions. The program is an e-exchange between consumers with legal prescriptions and pharmacies licensed or registered to ship drugs in the state of the consumer. It gives consumers the opportunity to feel more in control of their medical expenditures while allowing pharmacies, particularly independents, to get traction on the Internet to drive business and increase the volume of drugs sold. The program is set up for mail order drug sales only because pharmacies indicated that they did not want to convert their existing customer base.

At this time, the program is for legend drugs only and will exclude those drugs that require reporting such as schedule two drugs. With time we will add these drugs as we get more experience with the participating pharmacies. For now, most vitamins, and mineral supplements have been excluded. They will be added starting in 2007 to increase the participating pharmacies’ profitability. In addition, we will solicit information from participating consumer regarding drugs not available through the participating pharmacies. If we find enough demand, we will send the list out to each pharmacy and you can decide if there will be enough volume to sustain it in your inventory.

Because of the incentives for insured consumer, we are starting the program focusing on those that do not have coverage, very limited coverage, excluded drugs under insurance formularies and those with Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Medical Savings Account (MSA) benefits.

The program does not charge pharmacies for registration or the provision of drugs. Sometime in 2007 bidformedicine will begin to add a 1% to 2% service charge onto bids that will be over and above the price that you collect. Once the consumer has accepted your prices, they must enter their credit card information and authorize the pharmacy to charge the total amount of the bid, including shipping. bidformedicine will then notify you via email that there is a purchase for your pharmacy on our site. Bid For Surgery

Bid For Surgery is our online exchange for bringing together doctors and patients for elective, aesthetic medical and dental procedures. Launched 06 March 2000, the current implementation matches individual patients with single doctor practices for free. Future implementations will match the multi-patient requirements of healthcare organizations with multi-doctor practices.

Briefly, Bid For Surgery's reverse auction Website enables potential patients to anonymously post their requirements online at zero cost. Doctors specialized in performing the procedure respond by bidding a price and presenting their credentials.

The auction closes after 72 hours, with patients receiving names and contact data of all doctors who responded. The patient contacts any or all responding doctors during the next seven days to schedule a free but required pretreatment consultation, leading to a mutually satisfactory agreement to proceed. Please note that patients have complete discretion over their privacy until they choose to contact a responding doctor.
